ABU DHABI, June 23, 2021: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) announced that it has certified 7,842 professionals in the electrical services industry in Abu Dhabi under its electrical conformity programme.

In a statement, QCC said that the certifications will lead to enhancing the qualified pool of workforce in this industry ensuring community safety and security from fire and other risks from electrical installations.
 
Engineer Badr Khamis Bani Shumaili, Director of the Conformity Assessment Services Department, said that the conformity program was aimed at ensuring the efficiency of skilled and non-skilled workers in electrical services industry across six professional categories, including three levels of engineers, technical and electrical supervisors and assistant electricians.

Al-Shumaili said the programme will have a positive impact on the economy of the UAE as it will ensure the highest international standards of safety and security in the electrical services profession, adding that QCC’s conformity services sector was keen to further activate it across the industry to support both private and public sector partners, which will help develop the work processes as well as quality and safety standards.

The conformity sector of QCC has been in continuous communication with stakeholders and competent authorities in the industry to extend the programme to all companies in this segment. Registration and    evaluation centers are also provided for implementing the programme, he said.

Al-Shumaili said that the conformity and specification services sector also cooperates with the regulatory authorities to ensure that companies and contractors implement the conformity program by licensing skilled workers, which is very important for the success of it. Periodic monitoring after the completion of training of workers in accordance with the program's requirements was also done, he added.
