ABU DHABI, 23rd September, 2022 The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) has launched an updated version of the Abu Dhabi Guide for Infrastructure Services at the "Partners Forum" 2022 with modifications and adding 30 sub-directories bringing the total number of technical documents in the Guide to 160.

The Partners Forum 2022 was recently organised in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of over 200 people representing local and federal government agencies and private sector institutions.

Badr Khamis Al Shamili, Executive Director of the Conformity and Standardisation Services Sector at the Council, said the updated version of the Guide had been made possible with the cooperation of several Abu Dhabi government agencies.

He added that updated sub-guidelines were added to the transport infrastructure, development planning, right-of-way paths, public place services and community facilities, infrastructure spanning district cooling, integrated water management, telecommunications, waste management and gas supply.

Al Shamili said the Guide is a unified reference for service infrastructure sectors and aims to identify areas where costs are increasing, harmonise technical documents of government agencies by unifying the reference points for developing and preparing these documents, and putting in place an effective mechanism to update the Guide periodically in line with the needs of the partners.

The Council's official website has all the data available to serve the concerned authorities and the target groups in the application process.

"The application of the Guide has had an impact on facilitating the operations related to infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi, which positively helped in streamlining procedures, saving time and effort in accessing information, and thus attracting investments to the emirate, and enhancing coordination between the regulatory and service agencies in the sector," he said.

The studies submitted by QCC partners prove the economic, technical and environmental impacts of applying the updated version of the Guide.
