Abu Dhabi, November 28, 2021: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC), said that the Market and Consumer Services Sector of the Council has completed the requirements needed to receiving international accreditation.

QCC said the sector has passed the external audits conducted by the Emirates International Accreditation Center (EIAC) in November 2021, paving the way for accreditation of all metrological verification services it provides, including for tire pressure gauges, length gauges and pre-packaged goods.

“Despite the challenges of the COVID pandemic, we have been able to complete the accreditation process. We are proud of this achievement, which will make us an internationally accredited inspection body complying with ISO 17020 standards Class A for all our metrological verification services,” said Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Markets and Consumer Services Sector, QCC.

With the completion of the accreditation requirements of EIAC, the sector is poised to receive international accreditation for all its current services in Abu Dhabi. The audit team of EIAC also recommended expanding the scope of the international accreditation certificate granted to the Market Monitoring Department in 2018, without any non-conformities or observations.
