The committee approved a project to update the Abu Dhabi technical specifications for lighting at the meeting as proposed by the Abu Dhabi Municipality. The project will warrant the inclusion of the latest technologies in lighting in accordance with international standards. Thus, it will ensure that lighting, while serving the community needs, will also positively result in cost and energy savings by the sensible use of available resources, in addition to reducing carbon emissions.
The committee also approved a project to update the occupational terms for school bus drivers and supervisors in Abu Dhabi to improve competence and performance, based on a request from the Integrated Transport Center. The committee also reviewed project requests submitted by the Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian Works, on an initiative to support National families, and the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to develop technical guidelines for the safe use of bicycles. It was agreed at the meeting that these requests will be included in the Conformity & Standards Services Sector 2021 operational plan after being evaluated according to the Council’s procedures.
