Abu Dhabi, October 25, 2022: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) announced approving five guidelines and technical standards for infrastructure service practices submitted by three Abu Dhabi government entities at the Council’s 42nd meeting of the Permanent Technical Committee for Abu Dhabi Technical Standards.

Dr. Jamal Al-Mutawa Al-Naqbi, Vice Chairman of the Committee, said the meeting adopted four guidelines requested by the Department of Municipalities and Transport, spanning planning of container locations in Abu Dhabi, regulations for mosque development, standards for planning public facilities, a guidebook requested by the Abu Dhabi Public health for green areas around schools and children's play areas, and the Abu Dhabi Center for Waste Management (Tadweer) request on handling compost.
He stressed the committee’s commitment to provide technical support to government agencies in Abu Dhabi, by drawing up and approving guidelines for service infrastructure specifications, including technical, to enhance the competitiveness of the emirate across sectors and service areas.
The committee approved the guideline for planning container locations, including defining waste collection systems for ongoing projects, defining standards for planning and organizing containers, and maintaining public health, safety and appearance in Abu Dhabi..
The guidelines addressed the implementation of the geographical scope of the Municipality in Abu Dhabi city in a unified aesthetic and organizational manner with illustrative and detailed drawing to standardize the implementation of the elements of the system.
The committee approved the guideline for mosque development regulations, and for community facilities’ planning standards, with the aim of updating data on all technical requirements for the design and development of mosques to facilitate contractors and consultants.
The Abu Dhabi Guide for Healthy Green Areas around schools and children’s play areas has also been approved to create a healthy, tobacco free environment, and encouraging facilitating access to and consumption of healthy food among children, reducing consumption of unhealthy foods, and stimulating setting up healthy food establishments around educational institutions.
The committee also approved the Abu Dhabi Technical Standards for Organic Fertilizer which forms a comprehensive reference for manufacturers of organic fertilizer from green waste, aiming to unify the manufacturing process from receiving the raw material to production with best-in-class standards.
